World Antibiotic Awareness Week
November 18-24, 2019
Think twice, seek advice
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is an increasingly serious threat to global public health.
Persistent overuse, abuse and misuse of antibiotics in human and animal health have resulted in the spread of AMR, which occurs when microbes become resistant to the drugs used to treat them.
Did you know? The cost of health care for patients with resistant infections is higher than care for patients with non-resistant infections due to longer duration of illness, additional tests and use of more expensive drugs. *
